Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works on TV and in films is best known for films such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her professional career in showbiz at a young age. She played lead roles in dramas on television as young at the age of 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role of the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the beautiful diva. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable national and international projects throughout her career. They include British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as along with the French historical miniseries Napoleon. She was also part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
